Auction did not sell? How to renew and improve it
What to do when your Bids Kenya auction ends without a bid: renew it from your dashboard, change the starting bid, improve photos and description.
An auction that ends without a sale is common, and fixable. Renew it, but change something first.
Renew it
- Open your dashboard and go to My listings.
- Find the item marked “Ended, not sold”.
- Choose a duration between 3 and 10 days and set a starting bid.
- Select Renew listing. The item goes live again straight away.
Before you renew, change one thing
- Lower the starting bid. It is the most effective change.
- Check the photos: are they clear, bright and honest?
- Check the description: does it say what is included and what does not work?
- Choose a duration that includes a weekend, when more people are browsing.
Limits
You can have up to 5 active auctions at once. An item that was sold cannot be renewed.
Frequently asked questions
Does renewing cost anything?
No. Listing is free. The 10% commission applies only when the item sells.
Does my renewed auction need approval again?
No. It was already approved, so it goes live straight away.
