Safe buying and selling of used items in Kenya
How to buy and sell used items safely in Kenya: payments, handover, delivery, scams and what to do when something goes wrong, with how Bids Kenya protects both sides.
Most used-item trades go fine. The problems usually come from paying outside the platform, rushing, or skipping a check. These guides cover the steps that matter.
The golden rules
- Buyers pay the balance to Bids Kenya, never to the seller directly.
- Sellers send the item only after the platform confirms the buyer’s payment.
- Buyers confirm receipt only after checking the item. That is what releases the seller’s payment.
- If anything feels wrong, stop and report it. Do not agree to move the deal elsewhere.
